This collection of Porsche engines, gearboxes, and parts was assembled over the past 48 years by the current owner, Wayne Baker of Personalized Autohaus in San Diego, California. The collection comprises thousands of components for Porsche vehicles manufactured from the 1950’s to the 1970’s and includes a refurbished 1.6-liter Type 616/1 flat-four, nine additional engine assemblies, engine case components, cylinder heads, gearboxes, and ignition components. Also included are a number of 356 deck lids, badges, steering wheels, electronics, wiring, instrumentation, lighting assemblies, and wheels. Among the engines in the collection is a 1.6-liter Type 616/1 flat-four that is said to have been refurbished and not used since. Nine additional engine assemblies are in various states of completeness and include a Type 616/39, a Type 616/2, a Type 616/36, and a modified 616/39. Drivetrain components consist of gearboxes, clutch assemblies, flywheels, and axle shafts as well as related parts including gears, bearings, and hubs. Brake components include master cylinders, hoses, drums, pads, and calipers.
The collection includes a diverse assortment of parts including ignition components, starter motors, badges, decals, fasteners, gaskets, wiring harnesses, and relays. Larger items consist of wheels and tires, fuel tanks, and exhaust components. The seller states that the collection consists primarily of parts for Porsche 356 models and that some of the parts are suited for 718 RSK, 910, 911, 912, and 914 models.
