This 1973 Porsche 911T coupe is powered by a flat-six engine built to 2.7-liter RS specification and paired with a five-speed 915 manual transaxle. The car was acquired by the current owner out of California in 2010 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that involved refinishing the exterior in red, refreshing the black interior, as well as installing front and rear sway bars, a Sycip muffler, and stainless-steel brake lines. Other features include Weber carburetors, an MSD ignition, rally-inspired graphics, bright trim, Maxilite wheels, Recaro seats, and a roll bar. The selling dealer rebuilt the engine and transaxle in 2019, and Bilstein shocks and struts were installed in 2020. This modified 911T is now offered on dealer consignment with service records since 2010, engine-build photos, and a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Tangerine, and it was repainted red by Yeaman Auto Body of Palo Alto, California in 2010. Bumper and side trim was removed or shaved, and 911 T/R rally-inspired side decals were added. Features include bright and black anodized trim, H4 headlights, a driver-side mirror, black-coated steel bumperettes, and a custom 911R-inspired engine grille fabricated by TRE Motorsports.
Maxilite 15×7″ Fuchs-style wheels have been refinished in Stoddard Exclusive Satin and were mounted with 205/50 Yokohama Advan A052 tires in 2021. Braking is from four-wheel discs featuring front 911 A-type calipers. Suspension modifications are noted to include Bilstein shocks and struts, Tarrett front and rear sway bars, an Elephant Racing triangulated strut bar and bushings, stainless-steel brake lines, and 930-spec tie rods. Rust on the front suspension pan was repaired prior to the repaint in 2010, at which time the brake master cylinder was replaced with a 19mm component, and the brake calipers were rebuilt. The suspension was overhauled, Bilstein shocks installed, and axles rebuilt by the selling dealer in 2020.
The RS-inspired cabin features seats trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. The refresh of the interior included installation of refurbished Recaro sport seats sourced from a BMW E21, RSA-style door panels with Asfolt pulls, a TRE Motorsports RSR-style roll bar, Carrera RS carpets and rubber floor mats, a Rennline aluminum shift-linkage cover and throttle-pedal extension, a black headliner, a WEVO shifter with an RS-style boot, and a fire extinguisher. In addition, the dash was re-covered, the pedal box was rebuilt, and the rear seats, radio, and speakers were removed.
A leather-wrapped Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel features a Porsche-crest horn button and frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 25k of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown. The gauges and the clock were rebuilt by Palo Alto Speedometer in 2010.
The factory 2.4-liter flat-six was rebuilt under previous ownership to displace 2.7 liters and features Mahle Euro RS pistons and Weber 40 carburetors in place of the factory mechanical fuel injection. Carrera chain tensioners and dry-sump lubrication are utilized. The engine, carburetors, and MSD ignition were rebuilt by the selling dealer in 2019, and custom camshafts were installed by Dick Elverud of Portland, Oregon. Updated fuse panels are also fitted. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. The engine case is stamped with the number 6139108, which indicates that it was sourced from a US-spec 1973 911T Targa.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed 915 manual transmission, also rebuilt by the selling dealer in 2019. Additional service has included replacement of the charcoal canister and ventilation system in addition to the installation of a Sycip triple-outlet rally-style muffler and SSI heat exchangers.
