Modified 1968 Porsche 911 Coupe for sale on BaT Auctions – ending January 8 (Lot #132,761)

This 1968 Porsche 911 is a Karmann-built coupe that has been modified with fiberglass front bodywork, a tea-tray spoiler, and metal rear flares. The car has been repainted gray over black leatherette with plaid interior trim, and power is provided by a 2.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional features include 14″ basketweave-style alloy wheels, pop-out rear windows, and an aftermarket exhaust. The car was acquired by the seller in 2017, and work in 2023 is said to have consisted of rebuilding the carburetors, flushing the fuel tank, and replacing the fuel pump. This 911 is now offered in Canada with spare parts and Alberta registration in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Burgundy Red, the car was modified in the 1970s with fiberglass vented front fenders, a fiberglass front bumper, steel rear fender flares, and a tea tray rear spoiler before being repainted black, and it was refinished in gray in 2020. Additional features include sugar scoop headlights, vented front windows, pop-out rear windows, and quadruple exhaust outlets. The trim around the windshield and rear window has been removed, and cracks on the lenses are shown up close in the gallery.

The dashboard is cracked, there are tears on the driver’s seat, there are cracks on the passenger-side headrest, and the headliner is torn around the left rear window. The removed door cards and spare rear seats are included in the sale.

The five-digit odometer shows 86k miles, only a handful of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
