26k-Mile 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 for sale on BaT Auctions – sold for $195,000 on October 15, 2023 (Lot #123,992)

This 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 is one of just over 300 examples produced for the US market, and it spent time in Nevada and Ohio before it was acquired in February 2010 by the seller, who subsequently exported it to Switzerland. It is finished in Guards Red over black leather, and it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six linked with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes the Carbon Interior Package, an aftermarket exhaust system, staggered-width 18″ Turbo Twist wheels, ceramic composite brakes, xenon headlights, replacement GT2-style bucket seats, a Becker-Porsche CDR-220 stereo, an onboard computer, a roll bar, and automatic climate control. The tires are noted to have been replaced recently. This 996 GT2 has 26k miles and is now offered in Zürich, Switzerland, with removed parts, a clean Carfax report, and its carte grise.

The car is finished in Guards Red (L84A), and GT2-specific bodywork includes a deeper front valance with enlarged air intakes and heat extractors, a fixed rear wing, and a black lip spoiler. The rear bumper cover is a replacement, and noted imperfections include rock chips up front and on the driver’s mirror cap. Photographs of paint-meter readings are shown in the gallery below.

Staggered-width 18″ Turbo Twist wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires that are noted to have been installed recently. The GT2 weighed approximately 220 pounds less than the contemporary Turbo and was equipped with adjustable suspension components as well as stiffer springs and stabilizer bars. Porsche Stability Management was not available, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes were standard.

Bolstered GT2-style seats have been installed, and they feature Porsche-crest headrests, red seatbelts, and black leather upholstery, the latter of which extends to the dashboard and door panels. The cabin features carbon-fiber sill plates and a painted center console as well as carbon-fiber trim accents. Amenities include automatic climate control, an onboard computer, and a Becker-Porsche CDR-220 stereo. Metal pedals have been fitted along with a red-finished roll bar, and the shifter knob is a replacement without carbon-fiber trim. The removed seats are included in the sale along with additional roll bar components.

The carbon-trimmed steering wheel frames aluminum-look instrument dials housed in a carbon-fiber bezel. Readouts include a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 26k miles, approximately 15k of which were added under current ownership.
