22k-Mile 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 for sale on BaT Auctions – sold for $200,000 on February 27, 2022 (Lot #66,782)

This 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 is one of 303 examples produced for the US market between 2002 and 2005 and is said to be one of 10 finished in Carrara White. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes the Carbon Interior Package, staggered-width 18″ hollow-spoke wheels, ceramic-composite brakes, xenon headlights, a GMG roll cage, power-adjustable hard-back sport seats upholstered in black leather, a CD stereo, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The car has spent most of its life in California and was acquired by the seller in 2004. This 996 GT2 has 22k miles and is now offered with owner’s manuals, a January 2022 inspection report, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Carrara White (B9A), and GT2-specific bodywork includes a deeper front valance with enlarged air intakes and heat extractors, a fixed rear wing, a black lip spoiler, and bi-xenon headlights. Euro-style smoked front turn signals have been fitted, and paint protection film has been applied to the bumper, hood, and mirrors. Scratches are visible on the front bumper, and the front hood shocks are said to be weak.

Staggered-width 18″ hollow-spoke wheels with colored Porsche-crest center caps are wrapped in 235/40 front and 315/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires showing 2021 date codes. The GT2 weighed approximately 220 pounds less than the contemporary Turbo and was equipped with adjustable suspension components as well as stiffer springs and stabilizer bars. Porsche Stability Management was not available, and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes featuring yellow-painted six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers were standard.

The interior features hard-back and power-adjustable sport seats trimmed in black leather, and matching upholstery extends to the dashboard and door panels. A white-painted GMG roll cage is fitted, and amenities include the Carbon Interior Package, a CD stereo, cruise control, a radar detector, and automatic climate control. The glovebox handle is broken, and photos detail peeling carbon-fiber trim.

The three-spoke steering wheel featuring carbon-fiber trim frames a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, battery, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates just under 22k miles, approximately 8k of which were added under current ownership.
