2002 Porsche 911 GT2 for sale on BaT Auctions – ending March 15 (Lot #139,765)

This 2002 Porsche 911 GT2 is one of just over 300 examples produced for the US market between 2002 and 2005, and it was purchased by the seller in 2008, who has since added approximately 25k of the 61k miles. Finished in Speed Yellow over black leather, the car is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six linked with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes K16 turbochargers, staggered-width 18″ Turbo Twist wheels, JRZ Suspension Engineering coilovers, a roll bar, Recaro racing seats, six-point racing harnesses, cruise control, automatic climate control, aftermarket audio equipment, and GT3-spec brake calipers and steel rotors. Service in December 2023 included a brake fluid flush, recharging the dampers, and replacing the fuel pump, map sensor, and brake pads and rotors. This 996 GT2 is now offered with a DME report, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Speed Yellow, and GT2-specific bodywork includes a deeper front valance with enlarged air intakes and heat extractors, a fixed rear wing, and a black lip spoiler. The Carfax report shows the car overturned in January 2005. The hood and front fenders have been repainted, a chip is present on the windshield, and the seller notes chips and scratches in the finish.

Staggered-width 18″ Turbo Twist wheels feature full-color Porsche-crest center caps and are mounted with Toyo Proxies R888 R tires. The GT2 weighed approximately 220 pounds less than the contemporary Turbo and was equipped with stiffer springs and stabilizer bars. Porsche Stability Management was not available, and modifications are said to include JRZ Suspension Engineering coilovers, monoball upper-rear control arms, and GT3-spec brake calipers and steel rotors. Work in December 2023 included a brake fluid flush, recharging the dampers, and replacing the brake rotors, pads, and sensors.

The Recaro racing seats are upholstered in black leather that extends to the dashboard and door panels, and amenities include a roll bar, yellow seat belts, six-point racing harnesses, cruise control, automatic climate control, stainless-steel sill guards, and an aftermarket CD stereo, speakers, and amplifiers. A fire extinguisher is secured ahead of the passenger’s seat. Photos showing wear on the interior surfaces are included in the gallery.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a central 8k-rpm tachometer as well as a 200-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 61k miles, approximately 25k of which were added under current ownership.
