This 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet was acquired by the seller’s mother in June 2002 and has remained in the family in Texas and Mississippi since. It is powered by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle and is finished in Guards Red over black leather. Equipment includes a replacement black soft top, a black top boot, 17″ Cup II wheels, the Engine Sound Package, cruise control, and air conditioning. This 993 Carrera cabriolet is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, factory tools, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Mississippi title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Guards Red (L84A) and features a replacement power-retractable black soft top as well as a black top boot. Additional exterior details include headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a “basket handle” rear spoiler with an integrated brake light. The soft top was replaced in July 2020, the process of which included replacing the top canvas and cable, main support beam, headliner, and left rail and gasket. The seller notes evidence of paintwork on the left door as well as fading paint on the rear of the car.

Silver-finished 17″ Cup II wheels are wrapped in Kumho Ecsta PA51 tires measuring 205/50 up front and 255/40 out back. Braking is handled by Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.

Power height-adjustable front seats are upholstered in black leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, center console, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a Becker CDR-220 CD stereo, cruise control, air conditioning, power windows, and an onboard computer. The seller notes inoperative driver-seat power adjustments, and the front seat outer bolsters are worn.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 22k of which were added by the seller’s family. The odometer does not work, and total mileage is unknown.

The air-cooled 3.6L M64 flat-six features a VarioRam intake system and was factory rated at 282 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. This example was ordered with the Engine Sound Package. The engine was resealed in 2012, and the fan blade, drive belts, and alternator belt pulley halves were replaced in January 2019. The starter was also replaced and a computer repair performed in January 2020.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle, and stainless-steel oval-shaped tailpipes were fitted from the factory. The CV boots were replaced in January 2020.

  • 159 – Engine Sound Package
  • 454 – Cruise control
  • 490 – Sound system
  • 688 – Becker Porsche CDR-210 CD stereo

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration, service, and emissions inspection history in Texas and Mississippi. A May 2020 mileage entry notes 60k miles, more than what is shown in the seller’s 2022 photos.
