This 1978 Porsche 911SC coupe was acquired by the current owner on BaT in August 2019, and subsequent work included replacing the rear decklid, installing hydraulic timing chain tensioners, and replacing the rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, and clutch disc. It is finished in blue over black leatherette and is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with 16″ rear Euromeister Fuchs-style wheels, aftermarket suspension components, a sunroof, fog lights, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. This 911SC coupe shows 119k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with a Porsche Production Specifications sheet, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Pennsylvania title.

The car left the factory finished in Minerva Blue Metallic and was repainted under previous ownership. The selling dealer reports the roof, doors, and rear quarter panels were refinished and the rear decklid was replaced under current ownership. European-market headlights have been installed, and additional exterior details include a sunroof, fog lights, dual side mirrors, and rear bumperettes. The car is equipped with 16×7″ Fuchs wheels up front and 16×8″ Euromeister Fuchs-style wheels out back, which wear Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires that were mounted in 2020. The ride height has been lowered with aftermarket suspension components. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes with ventilated rotors.

The front bucket seats are upholstered in black leatherette and are joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include power windows, a center console, cruise control, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo linked to speakers on the rear bulkhead. A Kenwood Bluetooth module has been added. The air conditioning system is nonfunctional.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and supplementary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 119k miles, approximately 10k of which were added under current ownership. A March 2023 invoice notes a burned dashboard wiring harness was replaced with a used unit.

The fuel-injected 3.0-liter flat-six was factory rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque and was reportedly overhauled under previous ownership, at which time steel head studs were fitted. Service in December 2019 included installing an oil pressure-fed hydraulic timing chain tensioner kit along with replacing the oil thermostat O-ring, oil pressure switch, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets, and spark plugs. An oil change was performed in January 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Service in December 2019 included replacing the clutch disc, release bearing, and lever shaft seals as well as the main shaft seal. The reaction plate gasket was replaced and the transaxle fluid was flushed in March 2023.

The Porsche Production Specifications document lists factory colors, drivetrain types, and options along with a production completion date of February 1978. Service records and manufacturer’s literature are also included in the sale along with front Coco floor mats and a spare decklid with a rear spoiler.
